Annual Americana Honors & Awards Nominees

nominees for the 6th annual Americana Honors & Awards
show have been announced. The show will be held on November 1
at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. This year's nominees are
listed below:
Artist of the Year: Lucinda
Williams; Joe Ely; Patty Griffin; and Todd Snider.
Album of the Year: Modern
Times, Bob Dylan; West, Lucinda Williams; Children
Running Through, Patty Griffin; Emotionalism, The Avett
Brothers.
Duo/Group of the Year: The
Avett Brothers; The Duhks; The Hacienda Brothers; Old Crow Medicine
Show; and Son Volt.
Instrumentalist of the
Year: Sam Bush, Will Kimbrough, Buddy Miller and Gurf Morlix.
New/Emerging Artist of
the Year: The Avett Brothers; Amy LaVere; Sunny Sweeney; and
Uncle Earl.
Song of the Year: "Are
You Alright?," Lucinda Williams; "Heavenly Day,"
Patty Griffin; "Hank Williams' Ghost," Darrell
Scott; and "Sometimes It Takes Balls to Be a Woman,"
Elizabeth Cook and Melinda Schneider.
