Lost
Johnny Cash Concert Coming to CD
Add another CD to
the seemingly unending series of Johnny Cash releases which have appeared
since the Man in Black's death in 2003. A previously "lost" 1990
concert will mark the 16th recording to become available since the passing
of the legendary singer-songwriter.
The new recording will be released by Universal Music on July 24 and will be entitled "The Great Lost Performance." The 18 tracks on the CD were recorded on July 27, 1990 at the Paramount Theatre in Asbury Park, New Jersey. The CD, which features duets with June Carter Cash and Lucy Clark, covers familiar territory by focusing on classic Johnny Cash material.
The concert pre-dates Cash's musical comeback with the Rick Rubin-produced American Recordings series which stretched from the mid-1990s through last year's "American V: Hundred Highways." Fans of the American Recordings series will have to wait for a rumored final CD of leftover material recorded prior to Cash's death.
